  As a group of 5 friends, we wanted to rent a house on the beach at the North Shore. We found this gem and it was perfect! Beautiful, quiet location, very clean with all the amenities we needed. The pictures depict the property very well. The sound of the waves as you sit on the lanai were so peaceful and the sunset views were amazing. Highly recommend this spot. We did a lot up in the North shore area, including a sunset cruise. We did have a rental car so we were able to do Pearl Harbor & Honolulu as well. The property managers were very responsive & customer service was great. I would definitely use them again next time we are in Hawaii. Highly recommend this property to anyone!

  We stayed for a week for a family vacation. Great location on North Shore by all the wonderful beaches. It was quite far from Honolulu. We filled all the beds, and the beds were comfortable. Bathroom situation was a bit crammed, no bathroom privacy. The kitchen was well stocked. Parking was good. Upstairs was hot and humid, we asked the management company for another AC unit and they installed it for us, which made it more comfortable. There were no shade blinds on the big windows downstairs which made is very hot at peak day and evening. The house was located right on the ocean with a small sandy beach, good sized yard for star gazing, and a nice patio for lounging. The garbage situation was not good; the containers were not labeled well, and the prior guest garbage filled all the bins already when we arrived. The management asked us to move trash that was wrongly in the yard bin to another trash bin, and there were maggots. It was disgusting and really was not our responsibility to deal with the poor trash situation. There were a lot of flies we had to combat constantly in the house and on the porch. There were some beach toys and swim gear on the side of the house which was nice to use. There was an outdoor shower that got good use. There was a dead lizard in the upstairs stuck in the wooden rafters which was creepy. The inside couch was actually outdoor patio furniture and that could be improved for comfort. Overall it was enjoyable and mostly comfortable, but also had some drawbacks.

  We had the pleasure of staying for a full week in this house. It was perfect for our family of 8. The house is spacious and clean, everything we could need was provided and much more. The washer and dryer were awesome. The outdoor shower was amazing, it even had hot water! Great beach access, the beach is pretty rocky so not the greatest for swimming, but pretty awesome for snorkeling and watching for turtles. We had a small wedding ceremony down on the beach at sunset, and the setting was serene and intimate. Everything we could have hoped for. I will cherish the memories we made on this trip, and in this house, forever. We will definitely be back!

  We had the best time renting this house! We got married on the beach in the back yard and it was a dream come true. Waking up to the ocean view was amazing. I did not want to leave. The house was very spacious and had everything you needed except for food of course. It was a bit warm but at night time we would open up an the windows and the breeze would cool it down. There are window ACs in the bedrooms however the upstairs is open to the downstairs but the large fan made it comfortable to sleep at night. I would suggest one of the wall AC units in the living room to cool it better during the day. Overall our experience was the best. The washer had a mildew smell but that was expected being on a humid island. Foodland was 10 minutes away. Kind of pricey but convenient or you can drive to Walmart which is about 45 minutes away. We loved the north shore side because it felt like home. We will be renting this house again in the near future. We can't wait to return!

  Our family stayed at this wonderful holiday home for 5 nights in July 2023. A beautiful spot with views across the Pacific, though the beach isn't most people's idea of a swimming beach. Close to great beaches though, eating establishments and all the north shore has to offer. Unfortunately the a/c hasn't really been done efficiently so expect a noisy and very hot night's sleep. Also the neighbouring properties are rentals, so we had nights lit up by hundreds of lights strung up in trees next door and other people's kids waking us running around on our deck.

  The 3 Bedroom, 2 bath plus loft beachfront house was perfect for my family of 8. The near-bye Farmers Market and fantastic sunset view from the back-porch made the idea of grilling at home perfect. Alternatively, we leveraged the nearbye food trucks (including Giovanni's) for our meals, bringing the food back to the house to eat and savor the view. The beach in front of the unit has some rocks, but just a short walk down revealed several wonderful swimming spots. We also, popped in the car and went to Sunset Beach, Pipeline, Pupukeia, and Waimeia Bay. Pupukeia (aka Sharks Cove) being one of the best snorkeling spots on the island (when conditions are right) was only 4.4 miles away.

  Location was perfect, beach is easily accessible and great to walk on and explore. the house is not fancy, but as you spend almost all your time outside it worked perfectly for our 4 kids. deck and grass are wonderful, lots of whales to see from the house.   The rental was a perfect place for our family of 7 getaway. The house is in a quieter area on the North Shore with a beautiful view. The beach is quiet, and although not a swimming beach there is swimming hole for the kiddos a few houses down. We stayed end of June and the house can get pretty warm in the late afternoon, early evening when the sun is setting and shining directly into the kitchen and living room, but once the sun goes down it tends to cool off pretty quickly. It was clean, the beds were comfortable and equipped with nice linens and towels. For an extended stay,I only wish it had a fan for the downstairs and a mop to help keep the floors clean. Definitely would stay here again!!

  We LOVED this home! Have stayed at many VRBO locations here as well as other states. It was so smooth booking this home. The backyard was a dream come true (the pictures are great but don't do the view justice). We were centrally located to many North Shore must see's and do's! The home was nice and had most of everything we needed. (A pizza pan would be nice to add to the kitchen) The kitchen and appliances were nice and up to date, the TV was great (we only watched it once)Don't make the mistake of running around all over the island and not spending time at this home. There are some rocky areas and we didn't swim much here but this place is located near some great swimming areas. I think it would be easier to swim if it had not been winter (larger waves). With winter being said, we saw whales splashing almost every day off of our back porch! One of my bucket list items checked off with that! We would definitely consider staying here if we come back to Oahu again in the near future! Just book it, you won't be disappointed! PS: We loved the fact that this home had a nice security system! We felt extremely safe while sleeping or when we went on an excursion we knew our valuables would be protected!

  This property was absolutely beautiful. The pictures do not fully show the beauty of the view. It's stunning. I have very high standards when it comes to properties and was pleasantly satisfied with this one.
  Pros: The view, enough room for my group, utensils and setup was great, communication with office was great, and easy checkin/checkout process.
  
  Cons: There were no cons, just a few things that we observed. First the screens had a little wear and tear so consider replacing them soon (to help with flies coming in). And on that note, flies were manageable just be sure you keep sliding doors closed and perhaps put a fly trap on the back deck for when you are lounging. However, we didn't have too many issues. The couch kept sliding on the tile floor so perhaps some 'non slip furniture pads' to secure the couch may be helpful.
  
  Lastly, for those who are used to air condition be advised that there is no central air. There are only units in each of the rooms which is helpful. The main part of the house is unaffected by those units. There are fans for the common area but they can sometimes blow the humid air that is circulating. I am one who gets hot very easily so this was an adjustment for me. However the mornings and evenings provided a cool breeze and I slept right under the unit in my room so I could feel that cold air. So just be prepared.
  
  Absolutely nothing could make me dislike this property. Even with the air situation, that view makes up for it 100 times over. Treat yourself and book this property. You won't regret it!

  Great location on the North shore! Would definitely stay again. Perfect size for 4 teenagers and my husband and I. The house is in good condition and very clean. It had everything we needed during our stay. The beds and linens were comfy. And the restrooms are really nice compared to other places ive stayed in the past which was awesome! You can tell they keep up with maintenance on the property. The wash and dryer came in handy. The ocean view is so nice! Steps from the beach. Did a lot of walks up and down. Not necessarily the best place to get into the water though but that didnt make it any less fantastic! There are lots of boogie boards you can borrow which the kids loved. The outside shower- amazing!
  What i loved most about the place is that it is far enough from the north shore traffic but still really close to everything. And that its tucked away but easy to find and we felt completely safe the entire trip. I work in building management so my standards are much higher because I look at everything but i have to say, this exceeded my expectations and it was totally worth the money!

  We had a great time staying at this property. The view and beach access were amazing. The house was in good condition and very clean. We appreciated being able to cool the house down when the ocean breeze wasn’t enough. The washer snd dryer seemed new and worked great! The water pressure in the outside shower was strong. As a group of 7, we had to stagger our showers as the hot water would run out after a few people showered. However, it didn’t take too long before there was hot water again. Having privacy for changing clothes upstairs took some creativity at times since a few windows do not have curtains or blinds. The property felt very secure with the alarm system and gate at the entrance. Overall, I would definitely stay at this property again in a heart beat!

  Stayed for 7 nights as a group of 4 adults. The oceanview and being steps from the water made it a perfect vacation home! The kitchen space with large island worked perfectly for our group as a gathering and cooking space. We spent hours enjoying the views/sounds of the ocean and wild chickens from the porch. The yard was also great for sunsets and starry nights. Without traffic, we were a 5 minute drive to turtle bay resort restaurants and 10 minutes from Foodland Pūpūkea. We had some issues with the dryer and found it easier to just try and air dry clothes.
  Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We did see contractors at the neighboring units completing some repairs which indicated that the management company takes care of the units. There was plenty of space for our family and the bedroom configuration worked out perfectly. The grounds were well taken care of and we enjoyed watching the free roaming chickens which added to the island vibe.

  The view and the grounds and the beach will not disappoint. It's quite rocky in front but still plenty of beach to lounge on and the rocks are a great deterrent for little ones wondering in the water unsupervised. There are small areas to go swimming in but the current can be vicious so not super safe for weak swimmers. The house is comfy and has all the amenities but could use a bit of an update and some love. Since it is a bit dated, the tubs are old and the grout in the kitchen impossible to get sparkly clean so the house looks a bit dirty. Since the property is for sale, am thinking it doesn't pay to put a lot of money into it. Sophia and her team are amazing at getting back to you right away and no trouble finding their office for key pick up or locating the house. We had some plumbing issues(slow drains in sinks and tub) which were fixed right away. Also no frying pan when we arrived and it was delivered as soon as I asked for it. Great service! Best thing about the house is the location. Very close to Turtle Bay resort (great swimming/snorkel beach and restaurants/golf), Foodland is super close, Sunset Beach, Waimea beach, all 10 min drive. And the sunsets from the deck are gorgeous. I am not sure if I would rent this again, the location makes it worth while but may look for something less dated next time.

  We recently stayed a week in Oahu and what a wonderful week it was. The house was perfect. Situated right on the beach, trade winds blowing and sunsets off the back deck. Our girls loved the chickens in the yard, the cat that visited in the mornings and the geckos at night. Our family of 7 enjoyed the quick walk down to the beach, where during high tide a natural pool would form. Using the keyhole to the reef for snorkeling, finding sea stars and sea cucumbers in the reef are memories that we will cherish. We would recommend Kawela Kai to everyone for their North Shore stay.

  Mostly loved it. Couple of negative things stand out.... ran out of hot water after 5 minutes into showering... (consistent day after day.) Didn't appreciate random dogs coming onto property, whether from neighbours or up from beach. Grout on kitchen island was really gross. House was extremely hot upon arrival and didn't cool off until next day. Got most of our mosquito bites here. Didn't anticipate that as last time I was in Hawaii I didn't get bit. Positive things that stand out: awesome location between Haleiwa and Laie (chose it specifically for this,) Loved the reef and sandy beach (chose a reefy spot to keep my wandering kids from going into the ocean,) the views are so very, very lovely. Architecture-wise, it's a unique and beautiful property. Kids enjoyed the local chickens + chicks, geckos and resident cat (that we still don't know where she lives.) There were many fans and when the wind wasn't blowing there were very necessary. The owner was very nice and helpful throughout our stay. Her welcome note was such a kind gesture upon arrival--totally won me over. We'd stay here again.

  We booked all four Kawela Kai Nani cottages for 5 days, 4 nights for a family vacation and our wedding November 2016.
  
  Pros-
  - The lot and landscaping were beautifull!
  - The space was perfect for a large party our size.
  - The seclusion and near private beach was great.
  - The view right on the ocean was amazing!
  - The venue was perfect for our wedding.
  
  Cons...
  - Furniture is pretty dated. (But not a biggie overall)
  - It was not easy to get detailed information from the rental Manager Sophia.
  - I had to ask for the same information multiple times and follow up to get an answer. NOT that awesome when you're spending over 10k for something.
  - There was a major power outage during our stay (which we understand is out of the control of the rental company.) But we were without power for 9 hours, with no call or check in from the rental company. Also, the tiki torches on site would have really helped us have light, but all but one were broken.
  - Our deposit was returned in a timely manner, however where it was returned to was not discussed with us and it went to the wrong place. When I asked for this to be fixed Sophia told me I had to work that out by myself. When I asked again she told me they could fix it, but it would cost us $100. NOT cool
  
  So overall the place was wonderful, location and houses were great! Customer service was not good... and definitely left a bad taste in our mouths. Which is very unfortunate because you folks have a great product that really sells itself.

The homes are in a great location, perfect for children and centralized to many activities nearby. Kawela Bay is the perfect place for kids to swim.   This home has plenty of space and beds for our whole family. Wonderful ocean with great views from all of the windows. Soothing wave sounds. Convenient hose and shower to rinse off after beach visit.
  Lots of room to park. My kids enjoyed each having their own bed. Especially the one in the room with ac.
  The home doesn't lend itself to easy air conditioning, but adding one plus fixing the upstairs fan would help out.

  WOW, everything was absolutely amazing! Was a perfect location for all of our activities and housed our whole family very well. Very comfortable and had all the comforts of home.   The home is essentially what the words "vacation rental" conjure. Just the essentials, but in an absolutely lovely location right on the ocean. The beach is mostly unusable due to a lot of jagged rock along the shoreline, but the view is amazing (especially if your sightline avoids said rock, which resembles eroded concrete). No central AC (there is a window unit in one of the first-floor bedrooms) but opening the windows at night provides more-than-adequate cooling. Laundry facilities are kind of laughable, just a stacked "compact" W/D combo. Basically, nothing special here from a lifestyle standpoint -- just a serviceable place to call home base, with plenty of windows and a fantastic view. We'd stay there again.

  There was 8 of us(all 20 and older) and the accommodations worked well. The house was clean but could use a few updates/repairs but overall not a big deal. The view was amazing you won't be disappointed. Supplies were limited so you will need to purchase the necessities. We were there over the Christmas/New Years holiday so response time wasn't immediate but they did eventually get back to us and the repairs were made. Would we rent this house again...you bet!   I'm so glad we picked this house. Despite the house being older and needing a few fixes (new blinds for the windows, lighting, screen doors) it is a great location and a great size. It is open, comfortable, the lanai area with the wrap around seating is amazing and the best part, the view is perfect. The beach area was the most perfect spot for my wedding. The backyard area was also a perfect spot for my reception. This house is definitely a place I would like to come back to time and time again.

  My husband and I rented out all four houses for our beautiful wedding. Our family who stayed in the venue enjoyed this beautiful home. The property was well maintained and clean. The only thing that I was concerned with, but was lucky enough that there was huge swell (surf) that came in the week before of my wedding that swept out the branches and wood that were trimmed from one of the trees on the property. In addition, my family love to go fishing and enjoyed fishing late at night.

  Great spot. The house needs some attention as carpets are older and the electrical outlet in the upstairs bath is loose on the wall.
  
  Our car was ransacked one night. We had a few loose coins to insure they felt successful. Beats replacing broken car windows. It would be an excellent idea to fix/replace the broken fense board. Also, you may wish to consider putting up a gate and additional wooden fencing. It is helpful to protect small children near a very busy highway. Equally important, it would discourage petty theft and easy access to the property. A wooden gate with a rubber wheel rollers on a concrete paver base would be most cost effective. It can be built as is the current fense. Our family would feel much more comfortable and I assuem the other guests and houses which you own would benefit as well.
  
  We very much enjoyed our stay and will plan to return in the future.

  When I rented this house online I did not realize it was right on the water.You can only imagine my delight upon seeing the location. This is a great house for a family. The yard is wonderful and a good place for small children to play. It is not isolated, but you definitely have privacy from your neighbors. The outdoor shower is wonderful. I only took 1 shower in the house all the rest were outside. I would definitely recommend this to friends and family. Kathy at Team Real Estate was very patient with me during the booking process.
