Hale Kai is a perfect place to enjoy your vacation with family and friends.

Old Hawaiian Charm, spacious three bedroom, two bath beachfront home. This gem is located on a large half acre lot on Papailoa Road, one of North Shore's most exclusive neighborhoods. This gated home comes with a fully equipped kitchen, spacious living room area and two full bathrooms.

Three bedrooms will sleep up to six people. The master bedroom has a king size bed and a view of the ocean. Both guest bedrooms have two twin beds. The dining room leads out to a large redwood lanai where guests can enjoy spectacular sunsets and gorgeous views of Laniakea Surf.

This home also offers wireless internet service. Conveniently located near historic Haleiwa Town, you'll be close to restaurants, markets, art galleries, gift shops and much more!

  Home is beachfront a couple minutes north of Haleiwa. The beach it sits on is very private with very few other people except folks with homes on the same street which is what we like. The house is a bit dated but has a funky, old school charm - it was clean and provided all amenities we needed for our stay. We had a lot of fun here and was a great location to explore the rest of the north shore. We stayed for Halloween and trick or treated in Waialua and were blown away by how the whole neighborhood participated, kids and adults alike. We also spent time at three tables beach near sharks cove and Waimea beach. Good value for 5-6 people and the sunsets were some of the best we've witnessed.

  OVERALL: As always (our fifth stay at Hale Kai), it was wonderful. The beach was wide, the waves were wonderfully noisy, only a few walkers.
  
  LOCATION: The location is perfect. Right off the highway going in to Haleiwa and north to Turtle Bay and points on around the island, and the highway going to Honolulu and sights beyond.
  
  GOOD SHAPE: As always, the house is perfect. We don't need the glitz and fancy stuff for a stay on the beach. We tend to spend a lot of time at the house, and we are very comfortable with all the amenities. (Personally, the master bedroom mattress is in need of replacement, just sayin') There were many fans that help keep the air moving when it got a little warm at night.
  
  MANAGEMENT STAFF: Wonderful. Someone even came out to the house to help with the TV and internet hookups that had been messed up! I requested an ironing board and it was delivered promptly!
  
  Last year our son and his family of four spent the week with us at Hale Kai, and there was plenty of room for six people.

  Fantastic location, perfect for those who want to be on Oahu but feel like they're on one of the quieter islands. This is a beach house - not five star, but has everything you need to enjoy the sun and surf. Over the years various improvements (nice new couch, dining tables - in and out - and renoed bathrooms, trimmed outside vegetation opening up the view) have made this our go to place every time we visit Oahu. Can it still use some improvements? Sure, new mattresses would be nice, as well as a full slate of comfortable 'stare at the ocean' chairs. But it's got everything else you need to, for a week or two, feel you're living in paradise. One caution: be aware that probably from October to April you'll have lots of wave action out front (it is the surfing North Shore after all) and only strong swimmers will want to venture out on the calmer days.

  Wonderful family vacation to pass on the love of Hawaii to my kids and their friends. A better value cannot be had. This unique property is perfectly located in a beautiful neighborhood.   What a beautiful home. The Views and vacation rental was so beautiful. The home was beautiful, but no air conditioning. The next door vacation rental were up very early and talked very loud as the bedrooms are on that side of the house. They also allowed smoking next door so as the wind blew the bed room smelt like smoke.
  Overall the home was beautiful, views in the morning were awesome, and sunsets to die breathtaking....and a wonderful rental...Property was very clean...and customer service really nice. We did sso much...Matumoto Shave Ice, Ray's Huli HUli Chicken on the weekend. Polynesian Cultural Center, Waimea Bay...Waimea Valley. Went to Ala Moana and PearlRidge Mall.   We stayed a week for a birthday celebration and found this house and location to be perfect for our stay. The beach was pristine and the house allowed us to all be together in a safe way. We saw sea turtles in the water almost daily right in front of the house. We even had one sunning itself on the sand for about 12 hours. We kept our distance but took tons of pictures.
  
  Haleiwa is so much better than Waikiki so I’d recommend this house to anyone.
  The house did get hot at times but we stayed outside so much it wasn’t an issue. More fans would help plus lamps with higher watt bulbs would help. My Dad loves to read at night and all the lamps had very low wattage bulbs so he struggled to read.

  Very nice place. Good location on the North Shore. Close to Haleiwa and Waimea and Sunset. The water was a little rough for our 8 year old- but it might me a little calmer at other times of the year. It felt pretty private and the house was in good condition. Bugs were low- but there are centipedes to be cautious of. I would stay here again- maybe in another month to see if the waters were a little calmer.

  The house was in a great location! The only things we had problems with was the uncomfortable couch and workers showing up throughout the week without notice until right before or not at all. One day termenix showed up with only an hour notice and we weren’t aware because we hadn’t checked texts. Another day landscapers showed up and were there for a couple hours during the time we were trying to get the baby to sleep. It was really loud and pretty annoying because of the timing. It just happened it was on one of the days we wanted to relax outside at the house and we couldn’t do that.

Mother Nature gave us a little more heat than normal for the season but we managed - more fans would be a good add to the inventory just in case.   This location is unbeatable! The beach community is quiet and tight-knit, and you are literally overlooking one of the most secluded, beautiful beaches on the North Shore. The grounds were well-maintained during our stay as well. The perfect spot, especially if you are a surfer since this is a 7 minute walk from Lani's break.
  The main couch in the living room is really patio furniture, so it wasn't the most comfortable -- probably my only real complaint! The deck lounge chairs are super comfy.

  When booking online I always plan that something isn't going to work out as advertised. I can that is not the case with this rental. The photos and description are spot on. I would absolutely book this house again when returning and would recommend to anyone I know. The location is perfect. This is a very short, easy drive from Haleiwa. You're on a dead end street so there isn't much traffic at all. The beach is beautiful and we even had a sea turtle come up the beach about 30ft from us one day. This time of year the surf was a little rough - just made jumping the waves a bit more fun. My son is 12 and he had no problems with the surf. However, if you had little ones it can be a little rough. The house was very comfortable. There was construction on the house next door and a few mornings it would get loud at 8am - but we were up already anyway.

  Fabulous location with virtually private beach at your door. Well laid out house, adequately equipped inside. Only complaints - and they could easily be addressed - relate to comfort and availability of seating inside and out. Couches and chairs inside desperately need new foam and are torture to sit on for any period of time. Only two lounge chairs outside and only one chair suitable to take to the beach and enjoy the surf directly.

I ended up running across this listing after we got our original rental canceled & I couldn’t have been happier. This listing was situated on one of North Shores most popular turtle beach just half a mile from the crowded area. You essentially get a private beach all to yourself. The house feels open & connected to the outside & the ocean from almost every room in the house. The only downside is that you’ll have to cool down either through the multiple fans in the house or a quick dip into the ocean considering that this listing doesn’t have AC.

  Hale Kai was the perfect house for our family of 5! My husband & myself, my daughter & her husband and their 3 yr old daughter. The house was extremely clean! Some things are showing their age (the lanai & dining chairs) but everything was in good working order. The pantry was full of spices & things so check before you do a big shopping! There were beach toys for the little ones too! The house does not have AC but there are plenty of fans in the closets. We even had a big turtle resting one day right there on the beach! The location is really quiet & peaceful too. We hope to be back one day!l

  The property is in a great location right on the water near Heleiwa. One thing to note is that the amount of sand of the beach shifts year to year. This year, there was almost no beach, so we had to walk down about 50m for a sandy beach. Not a big deal but different from the pictures. The Team team is always really responsive and helpful.   Third time at Hale Kai in 5 years. Nothing has been done to update the home. Sliding doors still stick and very hard to close. I think the sheets in the master are the same ones from 5 years ago. This time there were dirty dishes put away in the cupboard. Bit disappointed this time. AND, the beach was essentially gone (natures fault). There was some nice new deck furniture, plus the old icky chairs and white tables. The house has no A/C or ceiling fans and in July, it was sweltering. Fans did little to alleviate the heat. All that being said, the house is in an awesome location - you just have to time your trips out due to Kam Hwy traffic. Just to the West was awesome snorkeling - lots of turtles and fish.

  We like the north shore because it is near our kids stationed at scofield. The location was perfect. Beautiful beach for the first three days then increae in waves and all of our sand moved down the beach. The access stairs still reached the rock so we could get to the beach. Our senior member (80+) liked the single level layout once she negotiated the 8 entry stairs and she also liked the easy walk in shower in the bathroom. The views from the main bedroom and living areas were mesmerizing. The grounds are beautiful and the surroundings are peaceful and quiet. We have rented through Team Real Estate twice before and once again, they were friendly, helpful and always on hand to take care of any issues that might arise.

  This home is peaceful in its own ways. It is a good place to go to get away from it all. It is also a special place where you can sit forever undisturbed, all hours of the early morning through night, and never get tired of just staring into the clear blue waves and horizon, or gaze up in the midnight blue sky with the moon and stars sparkling around you. As far as you can see there is a beautiful view from the living room out to the ocean. The beach hosts children playing on the sand, paddleboards, kayakers, fisherman, surfers, and the sailboats seem to disappear into the sunset. Walking along the beach, not to far out, turtles peek out of the water and sometimes come up to the beach to bask in the sun.

  This is a lovely HOME with absolutely beautiful views. The beach is quite isolated, which makes you feel as if you are a world away.   Being a surfing family we arrived to a great break right in front of the house (apparently we lucked in as it disent break very often ) so we were surfing within 10 mins of arriving !!!! Great having the 2 bathrooms with outside access ! With outdoor shower ! Awesome larger living space with comfy beds - it was a great place to stay but it is priced at that so value for money it's right on key with a great neighbourhood and wicked almost private beaches !!!! I could be a little cleaner and I for the price It would be nice to have crisper sheets

  Home has wonderful location right on the beach in a quiet area, we had a great time.
  As mentioned by others, it is a bit worn in some areas but nothing you can't live with.
  The toilet handle was broken which meant you had to take the lid off of the tank to flush and the screen doors didn't stay on track but in the bigger scheme of things we were very happy. There was some confusion with the cleaning company not knowing we were arriving when we did so we interrupted the lady when we got there; she was extremely nice but in a hurry so I'm not sure if she covered all the usual bases. The fans were a godsend but the blades were covered in dust and it would have been nice to have a vacuum and a mop to keep things tidy.
  Overall, I would definitely recommend this place as you can't beat the charm and location. Team Real Estate we a pleasure to work with.

  The Hale Kai rental was the perfect hawaiian cottage experience. The house was located on a beautiful, private beach with breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. Close to the small quaint town of Haliewa. A quiet location, set back in a gated community. The property is kept nice with plenty of space outside for activities. The inside of the house has a 70's cottage feel. I loved the wood ceilings throughout, especially the peaked living room, very polynesian. The interior was dated, but adds to the charm of the home. Plenty of space inside for a family. The bathrooms and kitchen need some updating, but all the modern convenience are supplied. The management office at Team Realty were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend Hale Kai as the perfect place to stay for a relaxing vacation in Hawaii.

Huge yard, great for kids to play. Magnificent sunsets off deck. Saw Sea turtles, a seal on beach out front and whales breaching from back lawn. Kitchen and bathrooms old, but well-stocked and very functional. Only real issue is mildew on lounge suite cushions, needs cleaning or replacing. Team Real Estate's process was very easy, even as visitors from Australia. Overall, an economical way to stay in a very beautiful area of Oahu. It was a good contrast to busy resort accomodation.

  Although the house was clean, several areas could be addressed. Mattresses are old and uncomfortable in all rooms. The master is two beds put together and not acceptable for the price. The master bath subfloor is wet and smells. Although the house is old it was charming it just could use upgrading in several areas. The house does have ample supplies from the kitchen to linens. We enjoyed the deck and the views. I have and will suggest this location for families as the yard,grounds, and location are perfect. The only true problem was with noise from the sprinkling system that was addressed quickly and that was very appreciated by our group.

  It was amazing to fall asleep and wake up to the sound of the waves. There were days where we didn't even leave the house because it was so relaxing. When we did, Haleiwa, Shark's Cove, Waimea, Pipeline were all a close drive away. The house and furniture are a bit old and dated- sliding screen doors were not maintained (falling off tracks) but the kitchen was well stocked with utensils, cutlery, etc. 2 full bathrooms plus the outdoor shower were a huge bonus! We were 6 adults and had plenty of room to hang out or have some private time.

  the tile on the master bathroom floor desperately needs to be replaced or re-grouted. the carpet in the living area needs professional cleaning or replacement. Everything the cleaner could do on a weekly basis was done well.
